Yowsah! Word comes from Kindweb that legendary jamband Phish is reuniting for at least three concerts next year. This is super news for Deadheads and Phish phans and kynd musical travelers.
More from the Kindweb story:
After months of rumors, Phish has announced they will play three nights at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia on March 6, 7 and 8, 2009. This announcment comes just under a month after the boys reunited at the wedding of long time road manager, Brad Sands.
Guess they had a great time jamming together and with drummer Stewart Copeland at the nups. Though it’s weird that the initial reunion concerts will take place in Virginia rather than in their home state of Vermont, it’s certainly good news for fans (and certainly for this Mid-Atlantic-based phan who has so missed her boys).
As longtime Phish phollowers know, a limited number of tickets will be available ahead of the mass sale — in fact, they already are and will be through Oct. 8: Head to the Phish Tickets’ online ticketing system for details or to put in a request. Tickets go on public sale Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10 AM EST. You are limited to two tickets per show and they can be procured through Ticketmaster or by phone at (757) 671-8100, (757) 872-8100 or (804) 262-8100. Tickets will not be available at the Hampton Coliseum box office.
In celebration, I’ll share some YouTube video from Brad Sands’ wedding reception, where the fellows got the notion to band together anew.
